The Importance of Stretching
Different bodybuilder treads stretching differently. Some spend 20 minute stretching every single muscle before they hit the weight. Some warm up by light cardio without stretching. So which way is better?
You should do 5 – 10 minute of cardio, or until you sweat a little bit on the treadmill. Do not perform excessive stretching before workout. Too much stretching will make your muscle relax. Your strength will suffer and the chance of injury will increase. The best time to stretch is after workout because it helps blood flow and muscle recovery. You should also do light stretching between set if your muscle got too tight.
Using stretching equipments like stretching machines and stretching ropes on a stretching mat will give you better result with less time. If you are not trained when your are young, you leg might not be as flexible as most people because of weight training. Using a leg stretching machine can certainly help. You sleep will suffer if you leg’s muscle is too tight, which will affect your muscle recover. Stretching after a intense leg workout is a must.
